I want to congratulate local artist Veronica Leiton for being included in the upcoming show Expo de Arte Latino Americano to be held in Paris at the Carousel de Louvre October 25th. According to reports in “El Diario” she will be showing 8 works from “Paisajes del Alma” which come from a book she created in collaboration with Maria Dolores Guadarrama. She was selected for the show by art curators from South America and Europe.
Leiton was born in Chile, but has lived in Juarez for the last 20 years and has contributed greatly to the city, as evidenced by last weekend’s raffle of some of her art in benefit for a local woman. Her works tend to fall in a general category which might be called contemporary abstract, but they tend to evoke place and ambience and invite one to sink into an area rather than merely observe.Again Congratulations.-david sokolec
