This is the last week before The Disappeared, well, disappears, and there are some fairly important events marking the occasion. On Wednesday ,show curator Laurel Reuter of the North Dakota Museum of Art, who put this whole show together way back when and Lawrence Weschler, director of the New York Institute for Humanities at NYU, and a long time New Yorker writer who wrote about the “Dirty War” in Brazil and Uruguay will hold a discussion at 7 pm at UTEP.

On Friday night filmaker Peter Sanders, director of the film, The Disappeared will be speaking at 6 before the films showing at 7. The film will also be shown on Saturday night. This film follows a boy who had been kidnapped by the military, raised as their own and was finally reunited with his biological parents after many years. david sokolec
