Interesting report in today’s New York Times on the state of the professional artist. It seems that if you are an economicaly marginalized artist then you are out of step with your fellow artists as well as everyone else -(I’m raising my hand here to plead guilty)-According to the report we are actually contributing to the tax base as well as to the culture, and we are also a growing part of the population. We artists are everywhere. Now if I can only get certain people to pay me more.
It’s also interesting to read where different types of artists are located. Vermont is supposed to have the most writers, The more importnt question is whether they have the most readers.- David Sokolec
